Fanling Back to Location

Centre Introduction

The Fanling branch is located on the first floor of Dawning Views Shopping Plaza, near bus stops and MTR Fanling Station, providing a safe and convenient drop-off and pick-up environment. For children who are shy when starting to learn English and tend to memorize vocabulary by rote, the tutors combine fun games with systematic phonics teaching to guide children in mastering the skills of "spelling by sound and reading by sight." In a joyful learning atmosphere, children say goodbye to rote memorization and steadily improve their English performance at school.

Bernard has been attending Chatroom classes at Monkey Tree since he was little, learning with foreign teachers. The classes are theme-based and tie in with young children's life experiences, making learning relaxed and easy to grasp. As a result, Bernard has learned a large number of English words and is not afraid to communicate in English. Later, when he took Phonics classes, he handled them with ease—without any revision at home, he could still sound out words easily just by reading more Phonics books. Now that he has started Primary One, he is able to read English books on his own; not only does he read aloud, but he also understands the content. I believe the English courses he took back then laid a solid foundation for him.

Thank you to the teachers at Monkey Tree for supporting Nam Hei since she joined the phonics class in K2. She enjoys her twice-weekly lessons and has progressed from learning basic alphabets to recognizing correct word sounds. We truly appreciate the regular feedback, which helps guide her learning at home. Since starting K3, she has also been attending the Cambridge class once a week and continues to enjoy learning alongside her classmates and teachers.

My husband and I are only average in English, so we have encountered related difficulties in the workplace and have missed promotion opportunities as a result. We hope that in the future, whether Cynthia is in the workplace or travelling abroad, she will not be limited by English and can confidently communicate with foreigners and broaden her horizons. That is why we chose Monkey Tree (Fanling Branch) for her to study Phonics and the Primary English specialist courses. One of our criteria when choosing a school was that classes are taught by foreign teachers, and the teachers are friendly and take the initiative to talk to children, which strengthens children's listening and speaking. In addition, every month the teacher provides a class progress worksheet, giving feedback on the child's performance in class and offering suggestions on how the child can strengthen English reading at home. Overall, our child enjoys attending classes at Monkey Tree.

The parent said that their daughter Hailey initially showed strong resistance to learning English and even refused to communicate in English, being willing to speak only in Chinese. The parent was deeply worried about this and revealed that Hailey had once performed poorly when answering questions in class and failed to grasp the practice content, and was afraid that her family would be disappointed if they found out, which led to her aversion to learning English. The parent also admitted having had a similar experience—when she was young, she was laughed at by classmates for her inaccurate pronunciation and therefore dared not speak up—so she could empathise with her daughter's situation.
However, Hailey's learning attitude showed a remarkable change after she joined Monkey Tree's courses. The parent pointed out emotionally that Hailey now not only no longer resists learning English, but also takes the initiative to communicate in English with the domestic helper, and has gradually built up her confidence in learning English. The parent finally joked that, because the mother's English level is limited, they now have to rely on their daughter to come home from her lessons and teach them.
