Ms. Jessica was born and grew up in a seaside town in Cornwall, UK! She has grown up with a love for interesting places and people, which makes Hong Kong perfect. Ms. Jessica recently graduated from the Arts University Bournemouth with a degree in Acting. She has always enjoyed the theatre arts (especially singing) and hopes to bring some of that flair into her classroom! Ms. Jessica recently started learning the art of Opera singing and hopes to continue that while in Hong Kong. She cannot wait to inspire young minds and create a fun, happy learning environment within Monkey Tree!
Ms. Somera has come from the U.K. She is 24 years old and studied at the University of Bradford accomplishing a first-class honors in psychology and crime. She obtained her TEFL qualification in 2017. Ms. Somera wanted to pursue her career in teaching because she loves working with kids and wants to help in giving them a better future. What a better place to do it than Hong Kong.
Ms Jess comes from South Africa with a teaching degree and has been teaching for the past 4 years in Port Elizabeth. Teaching runs in the family as Ms. Jess's dad is a headmaster at a school and her cousin is currently teaching at another school in Hong Kong. Ms. Jess decided to move to Hong Kong to experience a new and different lifestyle. She looks forward to being part of the Monkey Tree team.
Mr Phil grew up in California and graduated from San Diego State University, where he had several years of university tutoring experience in science and writing. In addition, Mr. Phil has spent four years working in children's day camps. He has extended family in Kut Hing Wai, Kam Tin here in Hong Kong and can speak Cantonese. In his free time, Mr. Phil enjoys playing basketball, reading, and spending time with family.
Mr Adam was born and raised in Kent, United Kingdom. He loves to travel and enjoys sampling all the great food around the world. Mr. Adam had previously worked in the finance industry for years before deciding to pursue his interest in teaching. He is looking forward to meeting his students and being a part of this vibrant city.
Ms Tarryn is from Johannesburg, South Africa. She graduated with an Honor’s degree in Geology from the University of Pretoria and thinks science is cool. Ms. Tarryn has always enjoyed sharing her knowledge and helping others to improve themselves. Ms. Tarryn hopes to aid the little Monkeys at Monkey Tree to realize their full potential in English and in life.
